The Company

Tony Ingrao is one of NYC's most prolific and creative interior decorators. Known for his exuberant chic and flair for drama and luxury, Ingrao has decorated the city's most luxurious dwellings. Ingrao purchases furniture and antiques on behalf of clients, and also shares his taste for the extravagant at his Manhattan showcase.

His collection is voluminous and spans the 17th to the 20th centuries, with a substantial holding of classic English furniture from the Queen Anne, Georgian and Regency periods. The French monarchs starting with Louis XIV are represented on through the Directoire, Empire and Art Deco periods.

The Challenge

Ingrao routinely stores furniture and antiques and needs ready access to his inventory to find solutions for ongoing interior design projects. With previous storage providers, Ingrao experienced shortages and missing items, and had to use a third party vendor for repairs and restoration projects every time items were moved in an out of storage.

The Solution

GAM provided Ingrao with a complete, integrated storage and inventory management solution. Addressing Ingrao's pressing shortages problems, GAM customized its advanced inventory management system to provide Ingrao with a real time access to its inventory online.

Ingrao's decorators are able to log to their account, view photographs of stored items and request the delivery of certain items. GAM enabled Ingrao to manage the inventory in such away that if needed items can be stored as part of a pair or a set, allowing the decorators to request the delivery of a complete room or a china set in one click.

GAM also utilizes its sister company Mana Fine Arts to provide an in-house art restoration and repair services and to deliver Ingrao's priceless antiques using its specialized art delivery trucks and personnel.

The results

GAM was able to show tangible and impressive results. By completely changing the way items were stored, GAM was able to reduce Ingrao's storage space from 25,000 SF to 8,000 SF, realizing 60% cost reduction within the first year of operations. Quickly, GAM became an integral part of the Ingrao team, operating a master art repair shop, providing ingrao with accounting and billing reports for their clients, and effectively becoming an extension of their business.
